About Kingswood Parish
Kingswood and Hanham is a benefice consisting of the two parishes in the South Gloucestershire deanery. Kingswood Parish has two churches providing a wide variety of worship styles and traditions to suit all ages. Members meet together to praise God in music, song and prayer. They aim to deepen their faith in God through studying the Bible and discussion, and to show their love for God by serving each other and the wider community. Many events go on during the week as well as Sunday to which anyone is invited. Both Holy Trinity Church and the Church of the Ascension have church halls which are available to hire for community activities. Baptisms, weddings and funerals can be arranged by contacting the Parish Office Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10am - 12pm.

The COMMUNITY GARDEN PROJECT at Church of the Ascension arose out of awareness of lack of local quiet space to sit at the beginning of the pandemic. It has been designed as a project for local residents to both help create and to enjoy visiting.
Part 1 of the project is almost complete and consisted of clearing extensive brambles to create a small woodland area where bird boxes and feeders have been put up. We have also begun to plant woodland flowers.
Part 2 of the project has commenced and involves clearing brambles in order to create a garden to attract butterflies and bees. It will also provide somewhere local residents can come and sit. Beacon Rise school hope to use it as their nature study area and intend to plant a tree in honour of the queen's jubilee later in the year.
Any newcomers interested in this project are warmly welcomed.
MOTHERS' UNION aims to support Christian marriage and family life worldwide through raising awareness, prayer and action.
There is no branch in Kingswood Parish but there are a small number of members supporting Mothers' Union projects locally, in the Bristol Diocese and overseas. Membership is open to anyone baptised into the Christian faith - not just mothers, regardless of gender, age, married or not. Contact the Parish Office for further information.
MUSIC AT HOLY TRINITY CHURCH
HOLY TRINITY CHURCH CHOIR leads the singing at H.T.K. They are always very professional and do a fantastic job. It is quite a commitment to sing every Sunday and to attend choir practice. If you think this is a role you could take on in the church please contact us.
HOLY TRINITY CHURCH OCCASIONAL CHOIR was formed to fill a need for people who wanted to sing in the church choir but could not commit to being able to sing every Sunday. The Occasional Choir rehearse every 3rd Thursday in Holy Trinity 7pm – 8pm.
The choir normally performs at Advent, Christmas, Holy Week and in the summer concert. If this appeals to you please contact us.
THE ST GEORGE SINGERS were formed 40 years ago from a group of ex – pupils from St. George School in Redfield. Since it's formation much has changed about the choir. The choir now has over fifty members drawn from across Bristol. One or two things however has not changed. The choir is a Community Choir. No–one has to audition to join. The members meet weekly to have fellowship with each other and to raise money for charity. To date tens of thousands of pounds have been raised over the years for various charities. If you would like to join us to try out the society please just turn up at Holy Trinity on Tuesday evenings from 7.30 – 9.30pm.
