Sunday Readings Sunday 28 April Easter 5 Acts 8:26-40 Luke records how Philip, prompted to go down the road from Jerusalem to Gaza, meets an Ethiopian who asks for help when reading the Book of Isaiah. Philip uses the opportunity to tell him about Jesus the Messiah. The Ethiopian is overcome and asks to be baptised. John 15:1-8 Jesus describes himself as 'the true vine' with his Father God the gardener and his disciples the branches; how pruning is necessary for the vine to produce good fruit. The message is for those who love Jesus to bear fruit and accept challenges to their faith as pruning.
